Are you and your friends into books? Why not through a book club party at your home! This is really not a costly type of party. It is a fun social event amongst those close to you. This hub is here to help you with a few suggestions on planning one.
Now you know your friends like books so all you have to do is suggest to your friends if they may be interested in doing a monthly book club party. You can alternate homes each month. Each month someone gets to pick which book to read. This will also help get a taste of what everyone likes. It will also bring you and your friends closer.
If it is your month to throw the party be sure you have enough chairs and pillows on hand to keep everyone comfortable. For decor, you can go by the theme of the book. For a gothic novel you can keep the lamps on low and light a lot of candles instead. For a tear-jerker, you can decorate with tissue boxes and aromatherapy candles. For a crime thriller or mystery, you can recreate the game Clue by placing props such as a rope, candlesticks, magnifying glasses and so on around the areas you will be seating. Not only will the books help set the mood, it will be great for topics to help your discussion.
For food, if you like to go by the book theme as well you certainly can or you can have simple finger foods, sandwiches, fruit, cheese and beverages that do not go with the book theme. You can make it a all nighter with your friends or just one to two hours. This would be a fun, creative night for all. Sipping on bloody mary's while discussing vampire diaries or champagne while discussing romance novels is something your friends won't forget.
If you like you can certainly give your guests a token of appreciation before they leave, whether its a new bookmark or a clue for the next book. For example, a tea-cup candle holder for Alice in Wonderland Book, Eiffel tour bottle stopper for I love Paris book.
Turn to your creativity for this kind of party. You can go over and beyond. There are many ways you can coordinate a book club party to match the book of the month theme. Check out our shop for the clues at
