India’s third largest two wheeler manufacturer company, TVS is planning to introduce upgraded version (facelifted) of TVS Scooty Pep+ and Apache in upcoming months in India. TVS Apache and Scooty may come with minor changes to the body. The facelifted Apache is expected to acquire a naked fairing like Yamaha FZ, while Scooty is expected essentially an advance to the present model.
The main reason behind launching the upgraded version of TVS Apache & Scooty is the success of the existing models. TVS Scooty Pep+ is a flagship and popular scooter of the TVS, while Apache has won couple of awards since its opening.
H Goindi TVS Motor Company Vice-president said, "We have planned to refresh two-wheelers. One will be the TVS Apache and the other the Scooty (segment)...", he also added that, "I can say they will be refreshing... For Apache, it will have the same name and the body. But declined to give further details.”
Also TVC is flying over the web with rumors that it may launch the Velocity 160 model which was showcased last month at the Jakarta Motorcycle show in Indonesia. This model may come with the Apache’s engine (160 cc, 15.2 bhp, 13.1 Nm) and overall shape with some design signs similar to FZ-16.
The upcoming model of TVS will come with some new elements like sharp fuel tank shrouds and fairing with FZ-like headlamp and also come with standard features such as bigger petal disc brake at the front wheel, upside down front forks, fatter rubber, rear mono-shock and sporty exhaust.
Current TVS Scooty Pep+ distributes 5.4 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm and displacement is 87.8cc. Maximum power is 5 bhp @ 6500 rpm. Top speed of Scooty Pep+ is around 75 kmph, but after 50 to 55 speed it becomes very unbalanced. Maybe facelifted TVS Scooty will come with more speed. People will get some new experience with Facelifted TVS Apache & Scooty.
