A couple of months ago I started watching some episodes of the Real Housewives of New York City, for the ones that don't know what the show is about, it is a reality show by Bravo TV, about a couple of women living in New York City, specifically in Manhattan the majority of them, and how they interact between each other. At the beginning I used to watch it because sometimes they show places that I have been like bars, restaurants or parks. So it is always nice to see on TV the places you have been, under another perspective. But lately I can't stand the lack of education, intelligence and compassion from those ladies. It is really like watch high schools girls fighting between each other. It is embarrassing, that grown up women behave that way. I stooped watching it, because I when I watch it, it is like I am approving the behaviors that I am seeing on that show, and I am not. Those are ladies that organize charity events, that have money, that "supposed to have class", but seriously all what you see is trashy behavior all the time and double morality.
It is also enfuriating and horrible to see how those ladies spend 75% of the time branding the products they produced. When did we got to that point when a reality show that is extremelly trashy have some of the highest ratings of the nation. Where are we going as a society with things like that? What are we learning when we see shows like that? What positive can we get from it?
The worst thing is that we seemed to like those kinds of shows, we seemed to like when those ladies "that supposed to be friends" talk behind the back of each and every one of them, trash each other, make vulgar comments about each others and their families. I am totally fed up with all those reality shows that doesn't teach me anything constructive.
